The long vacant Jamaica Savings Bank is being given new life as part of a full block retail destination in the heart of this Queens neighborhood. PKSB served as Preservation Architect for the adaptive reuse of the Individual Landmark. Ground floor windows were enlarged to increase the transparency and connection to the sidewalk. A new metal and glass canopy drew inspiration from the building's existing Beaux Arts ornamentation. Historic cast iron door surround and transom were maintained and restored. New metal and glass entry doors provide barrier free access.
